be interested in a community for the Thousand Years of Dreams?

I personally loved the idea of the dreams, the content of them and everyythiing. So, I want to make a community for fanwork of the immortals [and other canon characters, because I'm a sap for the lot] but especially based upon the thousand years of their memories.

If this isn't the place for this, then instead, what did everyone think about the format of the dreams, the art in those parts, the presentations and what-have-you? Which is your favourite dream and why?

If this community was more active, I'd be all for it. But as the fandom's so small and the fanworks are so few and far between, it makes little sense to divide it even further.

It just means more communities people have to find and join to see much of the fanworks, which is long winded for us and harder for newcomers.

It's a shame the fandom's so small as to not warrant it really as the Thousand Years of Dreams was one of my favourite aspects of the game. I can't really name a favourite as I liked all of them for different reasons, but the people singing on the island and the Wind walkers really stood out for me(I can't remember the proper names off-hand).

I loved the format and even after playing through a few times I still haven't got bored of reading them.

If this community were all inclusive, I might agree with you. But... 2. No fanfiction or icon posts. The reason for this is there's plenty of places on LiveJournal and on the internet where you can post these kinds of things.

Since fanfiction is not allowed here, and there are only two LO communities on LJ, the other being a single-pairing community, I'd be in favor of a fanworks community - even if it's dedicated to the TYoD rather than everything.

... unless this is another of those, "I'm thinking of creating a community [elsewhere]" posts. Although I'd probably still be interested in that as well.

Ah, shows my lack of reading skills lately XD

In that case, having a general community for fanworks of all kinds gets my support.

Nay nay, it`d definitely be on Livejournal. And yes, if I made this, it`d be all-inclusive-- art, icons, fics, even rants if that`s what floats your boat. I`m pretty lax?

I just figured since we have a community to discuss the game, why not have one to post fanwork and shiat?

Alright, as soon as I get back from Japan, I`ll be making it. As long as a few people are interested it`s worth ittt.

The dreams were a really nice touch, it would be good if they continued this aspect working with another writer perhaps in a simmilar but different concept if they decide to make a LO2.

I pretty much enjoyed all of the dreams in the game, but the two that stood out most for me were A Chorus of Cicadas & Hanna's Departure I just thought those were really touching.

Its always a good feeling when you are moved by something, and its very rare that a videogame is able to acheive this, LO truely is a beautiful game!

I think it's a great idea. I only recently played the game for the first time, and I've been sadly disappointed at the lack of fandom activity for it! I do hope you'd accept more than only things based on the dreams, though I agree that there's a lot of blank space in those thousand years that calls for filling in.

The thing is, I liked the concept of the dreams, but I don't think I actually liked any of them all that much. They felt like a different world from the game, or many of Kaim's did, anyway. I wish they had fit better. Also I wish Sarah had gotten one or two!

I absolutely agree with you about the dreams seeming as though they're cut from a different world in comparison to the experiences in the game-world. I really loved them, but I couldn't help but feel that many of them seemed to take place in a world much more vibrant and full of different cultures than the one we get to explore. A real shame.

By the way the community has been created. I'm going to add a banner, but otherwise it's fine to begin posting there with whatever fan works anyone wants.

My fave dreams:

Letters From a Weakling: So very depressing
A Mother Comes Home: Even an immortal cannot guess the workings of the human heart, there's always room to be surprised
The Village Closest to Heaven: This one always brings out a confused muddle of emotions, just as Kaim felt. On the one hand people are unecessarily dying, but on the other hand, its one of the most joyful villages you could enter.

Um...I kinda ignore the 'don't post' rules. I'm an enthusiastic fan and sadly this is the only LJ comm we can come together and celebrate the game. I just pray the administrator will formally remove the rule, because it's absurd. The reason you have a specific community it to share specific oppinions and works based on that game. Yes, we can post elsewhere, but will the people who view them care?

If anyone's on DA, I hope you'll join the Lost Odyssey Club; my little contribution to encouraging the production of fan works.
